1.I suggest you download Notepadd++ for this operation, please find the free software here:

2.Open Notepad ++ and Open the config file found in:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Visual Floor Planner 2\Icons
Add the new line below to the last line in the config file.
    35 8 security/keypad1

It’s important you do not save this file as a txt document or any other document; you just need to hit Save and not Save as.

3.Copy and paste this amended config file over the old one in:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Visual Floor Planner 2\Icons
If prompted please replace and write over.

3.At this point if you open up visualfloorplanner you well see you now have 2 keypads. All we need to do is now change the image to our new design.

4.Open Paint and find the keypad icon from:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Visual Floor Planner 2\Icons\security\keypad
You will notice you have two image files for the keypad in this folder, one is for the icon and one is for the symbol on the tool bar, both need to be changed.
Draw your new design over the top of the keypad. Once you are happy with your new design click save as and call it keypad1.png and then repeat for keypad1.bmp

If you load Visualfloorplanner up you should now see your new symbol like , my example below:
